The maps offer an insight into the worldview, the thoughts and the ideas
of people living in times gone by. These radically evolved during the
Renaissance and the Humanistic period, thanks to the discoveries made
during expeditions and to new intellectual ideas. The Northern Regions
then became an area of interest and focus for the European elites.

Today, these remote regions are frequently brought to the attention of
the public due to the interest in climate change and ongoing endangering
of natural resources. In this way, the Northern Regions remain an object
of curiosity, as they were at the end of the medieval times.

The exhibition will be on display until the end of November.
